Just a brief props to Dawn (spouse du vie) for being someone who is not at all intolerant of superficial conversation; she simply does not engage in it because she cannot. Her depth is contagious, a deep field effect that alters spacetime and personalities around her. Very very annoying. Also good. Hard to live with and impossible to live up to. But not bad at all.

Hey Mark! Just found out about your blog from the Rudd's- very cool to see you blogging. Hope you and your clan are well. I keep thinking of you & Dawn- it would be great if God could somehow set it up for us all to have a good cup of tea sometime!
Me and Rob are gradually getting used to married life (4 months in!), and still wrestling with our house (the dry rot fight continues!). But we're doing OK. Would be fantastic to get back in touch again! Take care, Abigail

and it's true: talking to dawn is like doing yoga, she makes thought exercise so painless you don't realize you've been being real and important in your conversation until later.
